Mr Sanjay Chaudhri

I am a Consultant Colorectal and Robotic Surgeon with over 15 years of specialist experience, appointed to University Hospitals of Leicester in 2009. I established robotic colorectal surgery at my Trust in 2014, and was amongst the first in the United Kingdom to introduce laser proctology techniques from 2016.

My practice encompasses the full spectrum of colorectal and pelvic surgery — from robotic and laparoscopic cancer surgery and complex rectal procedures, to inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia repair, and laser treatments for haemorrhoids, anal fistulas and pilonidal sinus. I also have specialist expertise in the joint surgical management of advanced pelvic endometriosis.

Alongside my clinical work, I have served as Principal Investigator in national and international surgical trials, published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and mentored surgeons across the UK and internationally.

I am now bringing this expertise to The Galway Clinic, where I am committed to offering patients in the West of Ireland access to advanced surgical care — with clear communication and a treatment plan tailored to you as an individual.
